DEDICATION
This story is for those ''Loons'' who couldn’t let it go.
For the ones who kept replaying scenes, reading between the lines, and holding into every moment long after the screen went dark. For those who felt there was still more left to say, more to feel, more to explore.
The New Shadow was born from that shared obsession, from the quiet need for “just one more chapter,” one more glimpse into a world that refused to leave us.
This is not meant to replace what already exists, but to stand beside it, as an extension, a continuation, a space where the story breathes a little longer.
If you ever found yourself thinking about them when you shouldn’t have… this is for you.
AUTHOR'S NOTE
Sometimes, certain stories arrive in our lives at the exact moment we need them most.
Heated Rivalry came into mine during a deeply personal and emotionally confusing chapter of my life. At the time, I didn’t realize how much I needed an escape—something that could make me disconnect from my own thoughts for a while and remind me what it felt like to be excited, emotional, and hopeful again. What began as simple curiosity quickly became something much more personal to me.
There was something incredibly human about the story, about the longing, the silence, the love that struggled to exist openly, and the emotional tension between two people trying to navigate feelings they didn’t always know how to express. In many ways, I connected with that more than I ever expected to.
Like many fans, I found myself replaying scenes in my head, revisiting chapters, thinking about conversations long after they were over, and wishing the story could continue just a little longer. Not because the original was incomplete, but because some stories leave such a strong emotional impact that letting go of them is harder than we would like to admit.
The New Shadow was born from that feeling.
This project was never created with the intention of replacing the original story, profiting from it, or trying to become something bigger than what inspired it. If anything, it comes from gratitude. Gratitude for a story that helped me through difficult moments, gave me comfort during lonely nights, and reminded me how powerful emotional connection through fiction can truly be.
More than anything, I wanted to create something for the fans—for the people who, just like me, were not quite ready to say goodbye to this universe and these characters. A small extension of that emotion. One more conversation. One more chapter. One more chance to feel something again.
And maybe, somewhere out there, this story can become a small escape for someone else too.
If you have ever found comfort in fiction during a difficult moment in your life… if a story has ever made you feel understood, accompanied, or simply less alone… then you already understand why this project exists.
Thank you for being here.
